From the bride: Brad and I met through a mutual friend on a blind date. Our first date was at the beautiful Broadmoor hotel and resort. There was definitely something unique and special about Brad. We hit it off right away. We both thought we were comedians, so laughter and fun banter filled our entire date. It’s truly been that way ever since.

Brad proposed to me Thanksgiving weekend when we had both sides of our families in town for the holiday. The day after Thanksgiving, we thought it would be a great idea to pick up breakfast Cronuts for our guests, and the only place that makes them in town was the Broadmoor. Brad thoughtfully planned the proposal at the place that we had our first date. It was such a sweet and heartfelt proposal and it was so exciting to come back and share the news with both of our families.

I was captivated by the Haiku Mill and all it’s beauty and knew that was where I wanted to have our wedding. We always envisioned a small and intimate ceremony, which the Haiku Mill was perfect for. We also selected Maui Hawaii to allow for our guests to have a great excuse to visit the beautiful island and to have a fun week filled with celebrations.

Our vision for the wedding was to have a dreamy, beautiful and glamorous event. I love Hollywood style weddings, and designed a celebrity worthy wedding. The wedding venue was kept under wraps and revealed the day of. We rented a private charter bus to take our 60 guests to the secret location. The colors were blush, rose gold and nude to compliment the natural beauty of the mill. The elements of glamour were the crystal chandeliers placed throughout the venue, lots of candles, varying floral arrangements, and a mirrored table runner to reflect the chandeliers at night. We had kings tables and ghosts chairs for a romantic and glamorous look. The bridesmaids were free to pick any dress to fit their personal style in any of the blush, rose gold or nude hues. It all came together beautifully. Food and cocktails were important to us as well, our menu was an organic farm to table menu and the food was sourced within 7 miles of the venue. We had signature cocktails that utilized fruits from the venue. We wanted our guest to experience a well thought out and memorable evening.

Oh and the dress!! Going with glamour and nothing less, the dress is from Pnina Tornai’s New York City runway show. I also wore a Pnina Tornai cathedral length veil. The dress was handmade with lace detail throughout, a deep plunging neckline mermaid cut gown with Swarovski crystals delicately places throughout. It was definitely a show stopper.

We put a lot of effort into every details to make the wedding unique and special. We made our welcome signs and hand painted them in our garage. We stained the wood to compliment the fruit trees on the property. We also used a vintage window pane and hired a calligrapher to write our guests names on the panes for our seating chart which was hung on a tree. We had welcome bags for our guests filled with sunblock, local Maui beer, local Maui coffee, Advil, & a itinerary door hanger to go over the weeks activities. We hired a ukelele singer, who we still get rave reviews about to this day. He sang over the rainbow as I walked down the aisle and performed throughout our cocktail hour which created a serene and magical ambiance. We also surprised our guests by chartering a private sunset dinner cruise over the coast of Maui the night before the wedding for a fun night out.

Wedding planning was such a fun and enjoyable experience. There was no glitches on our wedding day and honestly it could not have gone any smoother. Best advice is to be extremely organized, have a well thought out plan and concise vision and hire a wedding planner that you trust and connect with to help execute your vision. We were fortunate to have one of the best planners that ensured our vision and day was flawless.

From Anna Kim Photography: Glamour and romance elegantly color every moment captured of this destination wedding. Beautiful shades of ivory, blush, nude, and rose gold perfectly compliment the old world, natural beauty of the Haiku Mill and accentuate the countless, enchanting details of this truly stunning event.

Our cameras were in heaven, inhaling an intoxicating, dreamy concoction of florals, candles, and mirrored table runners that reflected the chandeliers up above, and exhaling soft tendrils of timeless images illuminating the hours of thoughtful planning that went in to this beautiful wedding.

And then, of course, there is the bride. Phuong looked like she had just stepped off Pnina Tornai‘s New York City runway show in her mermaid bridal gown and cascading cathedral length veil. The deep, plunging neckline, details of handmade lace and delicately placed Swarovski crystals were truly a work of art and added to our bride’s already breathtaking beauty.
