The Fall 2014 Bridal Market frenzy descended just a few days ago and I am having the best fun gazing in awe at all of the pretty runway images pouring forth – starting with the amazing Monique Lhuillier Fall 2014 collection. One of my favourites for this season!
All of the magic unfolded in a showroom which had been transformed into an enchanted garden- the perfect setting for the ethereal, romantic gowns which were showcased. As with her Spring 2014 collection, the designer presented a trendy and stunning range of cocktail-length dresses. What also set my heart fluttering were the traditional-length gowns with their voluminous skirts, ruffled details, Kate-Middleton inspired sleeves, elaborate floral, vine and lattice embroidery as well as the delicate beadwork- truly “opulence, with a light touch” as quoted by the designer to Women’s Wear Daily. In a nod to the trend of coloured wedding dresses there were also gorgeous numbers in blush coloured hues as well as an amazing ruffled gown in a dreamy lavender-grey. All in all, the perfect collection for the modern, romantic bride!
