Today we are continuing our Tropical Flower Series with a look at Cymbidium orchids.

These hardy, long-lasting flowers come in a wide spectrum of colours including green, yellow, pink, burgundy, white and brown.

Cymbidium orchids are quite versatile – I love to see the individual blooms used to garnish place settings, escort card displays, wedding cakes, the hair of the bride and bridesmaids and more.

It seems more popular to submerge these types of orchids in vases but I really adore it when they are placed in low arrangements and mixed with greenery and river rocks.
