Classic Wedding Inspiration With A Soft Palette

Hey everyone, hope each of you enjoyed a lovely weekend! Our giveaway is now closed and our winner will be announced tomorrow!!

I mentioned sometime ago that the wedding industry is predicting that 2014 will be a return to classic elegance. Now I for one do love classic weddings but not in the over the top Colin Cowie or Preston Bailey style- mind you, those types of weddings are beautiful but they don’t suit my personal taste. I tend to favour event design which is far less decadent.

What I notice trending these days is that many of the classic weddings – at least the ones that I am seeing being featured- are actually outdoor affairs. So we have a return to elegance but with a twist on tradition as far as the venue is concerned. This seems to have influenced the incorporation of a very organic style into these events, complimenting the garden or woodland setting.

Now, since this is a fusion I enjoy very much, I thought I should put together a Classic inspired board for you with some outdoor elements. This has a combination of soft colours such as blush pink and lavender with neutrals – white, brown, reddish brown and a touch of gold.

Do you have a preference for indoor or outdoor venues and do you believe that the formality of an event should dictate which type of venue you choose?
