from the photographer: “This beautiful couple are true Philadelphians, but love to travel all over so it made sense for them to do something local while having stunning views. The Rotunda at Lauxmont Farms was the perfect place for these two. Rolling hills and brilliant lake views captured their hearts. Two weeks prior to the wedding, we planned for a full day of rain. Thankfully, the day of the wedding we all woke up with sunshine in our faces and a sense of gratitude and relief. During the ceremony, a natural subtle spotlight hit the couple and it was truly a beautiful thing to witness in Pennsylvania since it’s always raining this time of year. The couple wore modern clothing for their ceremony but shared each other’s historical-cultural traditions with one another as their guests had the pleasure of watching, not only their loved being shared, but the history of each other’s backgrounds. Red is a very meaningful symbol in both cultures and is important to share with one another. The color Red in Chinese culture symbolizes luck, good fortune, and joy. In Indian culture, Red represents wealth and power, purity, fertility, seduction, love, and beauty. Red is also representative of a certain time and place in one’s personal life, including when a woman gets married. The cocktail hour was a blast! There were abundant family members chatting and enjoying getting Henna done by one of the Grooms family friends, and all of the hors d’oeuvres came from each others background. It was captivating to see how they truly shared in each other’s cultures but still had an American style wedding. At the reception, the bride and groom changed into each other’s culture’s wedding celebration attire as a sign of respect for each other’s background and showing their guests that they are inclusive. Their bridal party shared a sequence of stories about how the couple met with theater-style storytelling and shared a meaningful toast to their future.”
