Elegant details and a romantic palette are always sure to have our undivided attention, but what drew us into this Oahu, destination wedding completely were the sweet, poignant moments captured beautifully throughout the day by Alp & Isle. The bride and groom had the help of Bella Weddings and Events to bring their vision to life, entertaining their guests in a glamorous, pink and gold affair at Cafe Julia, in the heart of downtown Honolulu!
From Alp & Isle: I was so excited when Chanelle and John approached me about their destination wedding in Hawaii. My family lived in Hawaii for many years and I have so many fond memories- I was ecstatic to return to shoot their wedding. Chanelle and I bonded over our memories, that is where Chanelle grew up with her family. Chanelle’s dear grandfather could no longer travel and she couldn’t bear the thought of him not being at her wedding so they started to plan a destination wedding on the island of Oahu. John is a Seabee in the Navy, and the two of them and their pups were in Mississippi for training for a lot of their wedding planning. Gabrielle with Bella Weddings and Events in Oahu was a great asset while they planned their large wedding from afar. When it came time for the wedding day, we were all so happy and excited! Chanelle and John began their wedding day at Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu. They both had suites and began preparing for the day. We planned their First Look to be there at Turtle Bay before everyone headed to the ceremony in Wahiawa. Both of them were so excited and anxious but they so sweetly calmed and steadied each other. It was a beautiful, quiet moment for them before the day continued on. They had a lovely ceremony and after that we all headed to the historic Iolani Palace to take their portraits. Their insanely gorgeous reception was across the street at Cafe Julia– a little slice of old Europe in downtown Honolulu. Every single detail was just incredible.
