from the photographer, Vanessa Velez – “Puerto Rico is one of the most beautiful places I have ever had the privilege of being in, a shinning light in the gorgeous Caribbean with so much natural beauty that you could spend months exploring. We had the pleasure of being a part of an intimate renewal anniversary session in the mountains after Hurricane Maria had ravaged the Island and it was incredible to see not only the resilience of everyone there but also of nature. Even after going through such a monumental loss the blooming of spring was in full motion. As a celebration of not only their love but of their Island they put together a ceremony at sunset that was simply put, fire. The most gorgeous light grazed them as the sun went down and became a halo around them. It was truly a moment to take in.

The designer put together a ceremony arch with greenery to compliment the mountainous backdrop with the light in mind so that they would be backlit as the sun went down. Then a simple yet inspired intimate table for their dinner. It was all about taking in everything around them and simply adding touches to create a flow between the elements. With the backdrop of the mountains and the edge of the water it was simply perfection and incredible to witness love of romance and of a country coming back to life.”
