Needless to say, I was beyond thrilled when I set eyes on this world of gorgeousness from fine art photographer, Joy Michelle. The minimalist, organic elegance of this editorial deeply resonates with me and I adore the sense of delicate femininity throughout, from the light and airy tablescape to the intricate Maggie Sottero wedding dress. We’ve pointed before to the increasingly popular trend of returning to a more classic style in weddings, so this styled shoot is rather timely as it embodies this idea so well, while adding a fresh, modern perspective!

From Joy Michelle Photography: This elegant, all-white wedding is both classically simple and timeless. I was inspired to photograph an inspiration shoot that could display just how beautiful minimalism can be. The ‘less is more’ mentality is what my stylist and I carried through in the designs and styling of the day. While our ideas were to be minimal in color, there is no lack of beautiful details in texture and design! The bride’s gown for example (a Maggie Sottero) with an open illusion back is one of my favorite elements of the shoot. Her accessories, including a bracelet, crystal hairpiece, and beaded veil, are all equally beautiful. You’ll notice the bouquet is tied with hand dyed silk ribbons that were specifically chosen for this shoot and add such subtle detail. Chiavari chairs, silver chargers, white dishes, and white pillar candles were used to set the table. The stationery suite design and hand-written calligraphy tie the whole day together and punctuate the black tie look. The stationery designer used a different shaped name tag as an added element to give variation.White weddings are season-less and brides can always use some white wedding inspiration regardless of the time of year they are planning their day (or place for that matter).
