How unique and fun is this? This couple definitely had a tropical feeling wedding, with a COVID era wedding in Portugal carried out in a very Bali feeling design!
from the photographer:
Lina & Daniel’s wedding was a small and intimate celebration with their closest friends and family during covid pandemic in 2021.
It was the first wedding that the renewed Senhora da Rosa Tradition and Nature Hotel hosted and Monica Sacadura did a terrific job creating a chic backyard mood Bali in the Azores themed wedding. The environment of Senhora da Rosa Hotel had the perfect setting to host Lina & Daniel´s micro wedding in this pandemic time and the similarity between the vegetation of Bali and the Azores islands was perfect for the background of their day. We can see in most of the photos the beautiful vegetation that surrounds the various moments of their day. The table setting was composed with gold cutlery, colorful water glasses and napkins with printed vegetation to create the tropical and colorful look. The napkin holders were the guests keepsakes, made by an artisan and one of Lina’s friend and guest, using traditional corn leafs. The table numbers were also made by the artisan using dried leafs.
Flowers were also carefully thought, with colorful tropical and exotic flowers such as orchids, proteas, anthuriums and birds of paradise flowers. The bride’s bouquet also had a sprinkle of gold in some leafs which gave a nice touch of glamour. Throughout the whole wedding we can see these gold touches: the gold leafs in the bouquet, the earrings of the bride that matched to the cufflinks of the groom, the cutlery, the frames from table numbers and also in the cake decoration, giving a touch of elegance and sophistication. The property had some monstera plants, which I used for composing the flat lay photos, alongside with some orchids, which I think was a perfect fit for this tropical vibe wedding.
The bride did the stationary – all the menus, customized for each guest and she also designed her 2 piece dress. Then Sara França executed the skirt and a seamstress the top.
The cake was made by the talented Menita, bride´s friend and guest at the wedding. It was beautiful and delicious!
Daniel got ready in their house, which was so adorable and had the perfect vibe to start the day! Then he left to the ceremony with the coolest style, in his Vespa! The color of his vespa combined perfectly with Daniel´s beautiful blue suit! So cool!
Lina´s getting ready was in the tranquility lodge of Senhora da Rosa Hotel, all made of wood, a recreation of the old “cafuões” where cereals were formerly kept on the farms. We had so much fun in her preparation, mostly women working around the bride, where we can sense the power of women together! It was really cheerful and fun!
The ceremony was under a big beautiful auracaria tree, surrounded by bamboo and monstera plants amongst others, and the location formed a perfect circle, where bride and groom were at the centre, near the tree and guests were in a circle turned to them.
Lina & Daniel day ended with some photos of them alone and we did some of them in the unique pinneapple greenhouse with a hot tub that the Hotel has.
The wedding counted with a very special guest Mimosa, the couple’s dog, she was the cutest ring bearer and was present throughout the entire day!
Seeing the photos of Lina & Daniel´s wedding we get the sense of a colorful, cheerful and also very feminine mood. It was a unique wedding, all happening during the day light and with a super intimate atmosphere.
A note from Lina, the bride: “I think it is important to mention that the whole environment was the result of the commitment of the Hotel Sra. da Rosa together with the bride and groom. This was the first wedding in this family-owned hotel with a century-old history, after the renovations (2020/2021). A wedding much desired and expected by the bride and groom who, after a confinement period, managed to bring together a small group of friends and family around a great love and finally celebrate this milestone in our life as a couple.”
