We love all these thoughtful details from Jacob & Courtney’s wedding day, their lovely and fresh floral details, and the addition of their pup that’s sure to bring a smile to your face! Be sure to check out the chic jumpsuit that Courtney changed into for their reception as well!
Tell us how you met and proposed! Jacob and I met in high school through mutual friends at a concert one night. We had an instant connection and were apart of each others lives from that day on! Jacob proposed on the beach down at his family’s ranch in California. It was a private moment, just us two. It was so sweet and totally unexpected! I asked him why he kept grabbing his pocket (not knowing he was making sure the ring was still in there! Haha) and before I knew it he got down on one knee. It was a moment I’ll never forget!
Tell us about some of your wedding style choices. Our vision for our wedding was airy, soft, and romantic. I tend to gravitate towards a bohemian style so we tried to incorporate a few fun boho elements. I also wanted to go heavy on the florals to really provide that garden feel. We knew we wanted to get married in Oregon because that is home for both of us! The Pacific Northwest is so beautiful and we felt great about choosing a venue located close to home. It was important to us to have live music, fresh cocktails, and a big dance floor!
I wanted a dress that was airy, romantic, and slightly dramatic! I wanted my bridesmaids to be in a complimenting style with slightly different shades of neutral pinks. Jacob knew he wanted to wear blue and we thought it was a fun spin off of the classic black tux. Jacob works for Nike so he surprised his groomsman with a custom pair of Nike Air Max’s to wear on the dance floor!
The most important part of planning for us was choosing a venue that could facilitate our large group of family and friends. We were so thrilled with the experience that the Oregon Golf Club provided. Another important decision for us was choosing our photographer. We loved her light and bright style. Her photography has such an airy and romantic feel to it that perfectly fit our vision!
Favorite part of the day? Our favorite part of the day was being surrounded by our friends and family who we love dearly. We had several guests travel to Oregon from around the country so we felt so honored to have them with us! We also opted to write our own vows and didn’t practice them until the day of, it was such a heartfelt and genuinely moment for both of us. Having our basset hound, Elvis at our ceremony was a huge bonus too!
What were some fun details? We had a custom bar menu made on Etsy. We had three signature cocktails named after each of our pets: “the Jinx”, “the Schatzi”, and “the Elvis”. It was such a fun detail! We also had a handkerchief made for both of our Dad’s that had a sweet message embroidered on them!
