The bride’s boho-chic look is such a perfect fit, reflecting a laid-back but elegant style in a modern Joanna August dress with a sultry cutout, paired with a relaxed, messy bun and fresh, radiant makeup by Nicol Artistry. We are obsessing over the balance of colour and delicate, feminine grace in the tablescape, adorned with linens from La Tavola, gilded accents, pops of rich purple and a lush, floral arrangement with matching paper goods by Summer Ellison. From Brie’s Honeybees & Flowers: Summer brings a warmth of colors and weather that is welcomed. The days are longer, the skies are brighter, the sunsets full of magenta; thus, creating a rich collection of hues that outline our summer days until we count down to fall again. I am inspired by this change and wanted to create a shoot to represent the deep colors, often bright, reflected in both the sky and seasonal blooms around my home along the coast of California.
To me, this translated to a simple, airy dress contrasted with a bright bouquet and artfully crafted cake flowers. This formula communicates the subtle elegance that allows all the elements to shine in just the right ways, though maybe less traditionally. The table spread is lush, every detail designed with intention. The bright colors remind us that summer is present, while the deep purples hint that fall will come eventually. The bougainvillea, with its bright leafy textures and dark greens, offers the perfect marriage of details. For me, everything about this shoot feels like summer in California.
