We love the oceanside feel of this warm and sunny wedding – a perfect and simple wedding celebration for an intimate gathering. One thing this year has taught us is that simple and smaller can be just as beautiful as large and extravagant!
from the photographer: “John & Melissa hosted their destination wedding at the Hyatt Regency in Clearwater Florida. Their wedding was an intimate celebration with no more than 40 people. Their wedding day was absolutely beautiful. John and Melissa shared their first look on a private hotel terrace and exchanged their vows intimately before reading them at the ceremony. They got married on the terrace that overlooked the beach and celebrated on the rooftop terrace. After the ceremony, everyone went down to the beach to take a group photo with the Bride and Groom. The reception was then hosted on the terrace for the remainder of the night. Their decorations and cake matched their destination themed wedding with tropical accessories, bouquets, and decorations. Lastly, John and Melissa had a balloon exit.”
from the bride and groom: “The way our wedding came together was a dream come true! Every detail was flawless and everyone had a great time! Joanna Canelas, our photographer, captured every moment perfectly! We are beyond thrilled with our photos; we get compliments from everyone that sees them. Chris Barbosa, our violinist, made the ceremony and cocktail hour so special, it truly was a highlight for our guests and a wonderful memory! Our venue was also beautiful and the staff were wonderful. Choosing the Hyatt was easy just from looking at the pictures online and then the in person tour sealed the deal for us, it was the perfect venue for our destination wedding! We had perfect weather that weekend, too!
On The Move Productions in Florida helped set up the ambiance for our dream day with their amazing wedding furniture rentals and also made it so we didn’t lift a finger.
We chose to do a destination wedding in Florida because it is where we would be starting the next chapter of our lives together. The wedding weekend doubling as a vacation was an added bonus for our friends and family and a way to experience our new home! We decided to get married 3 months after we got engaged simply because we were ready and excited to start our lives together after dating for 6 years and being high school sweethearts! That ended up being a wonderful decision as the world quickly changed shortly after our wedding celebrations and we returned from our wedding a week later to masks being worn moderately around the airport and the next week the lockdowns began.
We are incredibly grateful for how it all came together and in only 3 short months of planning, we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day!
Some of our wedding highlights:
– We planned our entire wedding day around being able to take photos on the beach at sunset! We searched online what time the sunset usual set around that time of year.
– We knew we wanted to get married on the sky terrace, which is their rooftop on the 16th floor, with the water behind us.
– The Caladesi Terrace on the 8th floor offered indoor and outdoor accommodations for our evening, where we had our cocktail hour and reception. All while enjoying the gorgeous sunset with unimpeded views, it was truly amazing! “
