From Erika Parker Photography comes a photoshoot on the California coast, mesmerizing us with its moody neutral hues, an ethereal J.Mendel dress made for the gentle ocean breeze and perfectly regal accessories by Porter Lyons. At the center of it all these beautiful images capture the easy intimacy and tender moments of a couple in love. A sweet reminder of how wonderful it is to document and celebrate the journey of marriage!
From the couple: In June of 2012, neither Sony or I were looking for a relationship. Fresh off of a breakup (as in the day before!), a friend convinced me to leave the house and come with her to a birthday party. The host/birthday boy had clearly exerted quite the control over the guest list — what Sony refers to as “the best party ever”, was an apartment filled with eight women for every one man! I decided I was going to jet as quickly as possible – and stumbled through the kitchen towards the front door, only to be pulled into a conversation by Sony. He was charming, smart, earnest and completely unexpected. I can recall with perfect clarity the smile on his face on our first date, and the moment he first held my hand. Every day he makes some gesture, small or large, that causes me to fall in love with him all over again. I wasn’t ready for a relationship, but I think I had always been ready for Sony.
From Erika Parker Photography: Sony and Stephanie were married last year in Savannah, GA where Stephanie’s family is from. They had a beautiful wedding, filled with fun, family and friends, but they currently live in San Francisco. They really wanted some pictures in their West Coast environment, and we thought doing a shoot at Stinson outside of San Francisco would be perfect. They have such amazing energy together, and are just so much fun to be around. Their love and good humour is infectious! The day we chose to go to Stinson Beach was absolutely gorgeous even if it was a little chilly. It was the perfect setting for Stephanie’s J. Mendel dress to catch some breeze.
