Fiercely Fab Friday: Short Wedding Dresses By Era

Happy Friday All!!! Short wedding dresses are still such a major trend so I thought it would be fun to take a look at some cute styles inspired by different eras.

20’s Inspired Short Wedding Dresses

The roaring 20’s are back thanks to the influence of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and the upcoming ‘Great Gatsby’ film based on Fitzgerald’s critically acclaimed novel. Flapper girls led the fashion of the Jazz Age sporting dropped waists, sparkly embellishments, feathers, shortened hemlines and extravagant headpieces.

50’s Inspired Short Wedding Dresses

Vintage chic continues to enjoy popularity among today’s brides. The lace detailing, narrow waists and full flowing skirts of the above styles are so perfectly feminine!

60’s-70’s Inspired Short Wedding Dresses

The boho chic style projects such an effortless beauty. I love the loose, relaxed design of these dresses and their graceful simplicity.

Love these as well. So chic and understated no?

80’s Inspired Short Wedding Dresses

I never imagined that 80s fashion would be revived the way it has been today- and you know what I am not a big fan of the trend. That said, I really love the coloured petticoats of the dress on the left. The dress above right is a really cute throwback to that era and the skirt-suit at the bottom is so divinely Joan Collins- how could you not love it!

Modern Inspired Short Wedding Dresses

Clean, minimalist and sexy is the mantra for that sleek, modern vibe.

More and more brides are opting for non-traditional gowns. I think the dresses above speak perfectly to the continued movement against convention.

Are you ready to rock a super cute, short wedding dress?

The designer is Max Chaoul and this dress is from his 2013 collection. His boutique is located in Lyon, Paris- here’s a link to his website- Also here’s a store locator website, listing boutiques around the world where one of his brands (I Love You By Max Chaoul) is available- Hope that helps, if not let me know!

Hi Andrea, the first dress is from an Australian boutique called Esther- You would have to check to see if they still have it in stock. Unfortunately, the website containing the second dress you asked about is no longer there so there is no way of tracking that one down.
