From Olivia Leigh Photography: Living at the beach we see elopements at sunset all the time. The couple then skips off to a romantic dinner for two and spends the night at one of our adorable local B&Bâs. While on one of my early morning walks on the beach I thought, âmorning elopement.â I had never seen a morning elopement on the beach and figured, âwhy not?â I immediately thought of a picnic breakfast feast to follow – on the beach.
To set the scene, we needed a palette and an overall look. Each breakfast meal is full of vibrant colors – berries, eggs, syrup, orange juice, fruit⊠and donât forget the pancakes! A perfect color palette against the neutral background of sand and sea.
We pulled in bright florals with loose greenery by Flora Organica to complement our relaxed boho-beach-elopement-breakfast theme. The brideâs bouquet added the much needed pop of color while still setting the mood for a romantic occasion. The groomâs boutonniĂšre even had rattlesnake grass in it, a local beach grass.
We set the table for our couple as one would for a feast – muffins, fruit, berries, orange juice, coffee, and of course, the pancake cake. The bright colors of the food created the perfect contrast against the weathered pallet that I repurposed as our “coffee table.” We were fortunate to work with a great Humboldt County vintage shop as well as a local vintage rental company. Reclaimed apothecary bottles used as bud vases added to our beach whimsy {message in a bottle, anyone?} while salvaged crates created the perfect layered risers for our ceremony site.
The bride model of our adorable real-life couple wore a stunning hand made gown by our local designer Jennifer of Angelica Atelier. I had been eyeing the dress for quite some time and couldnât have been happier that it fit our model like a glove. The dainty details and feminine lines were the details that we needed to round out our bohemian meets romantic beach look.
