Who says you have to have a huge wedding to make it amazing? Today we bring you some inspiration for an intimate wedding (tropical, nonetheless – be still our hearts!) that is bound to make your heart aflutter and inspire you for your own gorgeous affair. (hint – if you can’t have a tropical destination wedding, you can always bring the tropical to you – check out these florals!) We also love the marriage of tropical-meets-old-world-glamor that is in this shoot!

from the photographer and planner, Erin Traum: “Instead of the typical one to two hundred person blowout, couples have started looking towards crafting a more intimate wedding day experience. Often, this smaller guest count means a more carefully fashioned affair – a couple can pick and choose what to prioritize for one of the most important days of their lives. If a couple is passionate about a certain photographer’s work, this could mean booking them at a reduced rate for an elopement package; for a floral designer, this could mean simply needing a bouquet and centerpiece instead of multiple arrangements and accents to cover a large space. It also means that a fashion-forward bride can spend more of her budget on the dreamiest gown and accessories, whereas with a larger affair perhaps she wouldn’t be able to.

As more and more couples choose to ditch the financial burden associated with a large wedding, intimate weddings and elopements have started to become more popular options for the stylish, discerning bride. In fact, this was true of my own wedding – which was also featured on Style Me Pretty! My vision behind this shoot was to show newly engaged couples in South Florida what their wedding day could look like – a curated, beautifully styled fete with the dreamiest details. We sought inspiration from dried and foraged florals, attracted to a neutral color palette that would perfectly accent the tropical flora in Miami Beach. The Bridal Project also provided the most gorgeous Carol Hannah gown, which perfectly complimented two stunning hair accessories by Bloom Bazaar. For the discerning bride who craves an intimate, beautiful experience, what could be better?”
