From Bustle Events: To celebrate our expansion of Bustle Events to Southern California, we wanted to embrace the tropical and sunny lifestyle we’re surrounded with here in San Diego. By taking bits and pieces from surf culture, tropical travel destinations, and an aloha state of mind; we were able to curate a very fun and non-traditional wedding design.
The shoot felt like you could be in the middle of the pacific, tucked away for an evening surrounded by palms and the sound of the ocean nearby. Florals were perfectly wild, just-picked, lush, and bohemian feeling by Bloom Babes. Paper details by Underwood Letterpress incorporated fun quotes about the sea and tropical living with bold black and white graphics. Details on the table by Classic Party Rentals were colorful and more modern while keeping the overall look fresh.
As soon as I started collecting inspiration for this shoot, I knew Pow Wow Vintage Rentals had to be included. Their peacock chairs, Moroccan furniture, and amazing collection of pillows were the perfect touch of boho and tropics we needed to pull the look together. I knew doing a traditional wedding cake just wouldn’t do, so Viva Pops created some custom paletas as a dessert alternative. Plus, when thinking about the tropics, a popsicle just makes more sense! She has so many fun and tasty flavor combinations. Cocktails were provided by Waters Catering. We came up with the name La Pina Loca aka the crazy pineapple. A mix of guava and thai pepper infused 10 Cane Rum, fresh passion fruit, lime juice, agave nectar, pina colada foam, garnished with prickly pear and edible flowers created a drink that could have only been imagined in our dreams!
The inspiration for our model was based off the same free-flowy, wild, and exotic tropical look. Thorne Artistry embraced Kristina’s natural beauty and added a bold lip color to show off her stunning features. A breezy less traditional, but beautiful dress was provided by Elle Bridal Boutique. To finish the look, Mimi & Lu’s jewelry was the perfect touch for adding some playful neon accents.
