I adore the fact that destination events can give you access to the most amazing and unique venues. In this case, our couple was led to a popular, scenic lagoon and in the hands of their talented photographer, pure magic unfolded. From Jennifer Picard Photography: Jay and Mika really wanted to take in as much beauty as possibly during their time in Mexico and explore the area. I knew of a beautiful lagoon that was a 45 minute drive from where we were staying in Playa Del Carmen and it was an absolutely perfect location for our engagement/trash the dress session. Yal-ku is an enchanting and pristine fresh and salt water lagoon that is amazing for snorkelling. It is located in Akumal, a community built around sea turtle conservation and it is a relaxing place to get away from it all. Because the natural beauty of the lagoon was so gorgeous we really wanted to keep the photo shoot as simple as possible.
