Outside the box. Untraditional. Strong. That’s where those with adventurous hearts go. And in this case, a bride who wanted to buck the traditional bridal portraits with something a little more different and a little more offbeat.

from the photographer: “Sometimes you get a bride with a wild heart. This bride in particular wanted something a little different in lieu of a bridal session. To announce their wedding dinner rehearsal she requested to have photos taken of her and her horse, her first real love. We wanted to convey that even tough girls have beauty and that it’s okay to step out of the box and do something different. While others would prefer a bridal session or even an engagement session, a photo with her horse was much more genuine and true to this bride.”

from the bride: “I’ve always been a little strong-willed. That may be why I related to horses so well. As an equestrian rider, I always loved the fusing of power and elegance. I was excited and happy to be taking my husband’s last name but I wanted to make sure I celebrated MY strength and MY family as well. I’m more than just a pretty face. I’m powerful. I’m a trained firefighter, I have a nursing degree, I can get bucked off a horse and get right back up again. Having the chance to shine the spotlight on who I am, where I came from was important to me. Being able to shoot on the farm where I grew up and fell in love with my husband was especially meaningful to me.”
