When I was little, I was quite preoccupied with environmental issues – perhaps owing to my large collection of National Geographic magazines thanks to an awesome god-mother!
As I got older though, those matters got pushed to the back of my mind. We recycle and I’m always cognizant of certain things like not wasting water but I know that’s not really enough- I always feel like I should be doing something more.
Recently, an engaged friend of mine mentioned certain steps she was taking to try to reduce the environmental impact of her wedding- I thought that was quite brilliant! I would definitely like to support brides out there who are trying to have a beautiful eco-chic wedding, so I started a Pinterest board to assist with ideas and inspiration. It’s also teaching me a lot about what I can do to be more responsible for my environment.
The inspiration board above shows some eco-friendly ideas (leaf place-cards, edible centerpieces, moss and burlap materials) you can incorporate into your wedding regardless of what your over-arching theme is. Definitely also check out the styled photo shoot on Style Me Pretty where the dip-dyed wedding dress pictured above is taken from. Here’s another post you might also like.
If you have any ideas you would also like to share (on this or anything else) I would love to hear from you! You can contact me here or via Facebook or Twitter.
To my American readers out there, have a happy 4th of July!
