We’re back with another series of gorgeous images from Wendy Cooper Photography at the Erich McVey workshop in Elk, California (don’t miss today’s earlier photoshoot– it’s just as breath-taking!). Titled, Element’, this session sets the focus on the raw, authentic passion that drives two people in love against the backdrop of a natural setting that runs almost parallel to their emotional energy. As a fan of moody, romantic narratives, this editorial has me completely hooked! While the approach is not typical of what we see in conventional engagement photography, this could be great inspiration for those couples who want to do something a bit different and uniquely personal for their engagement session!

From Wendy Cooper Photography: Day one of the workshop included a shoot of a gorgeous couple in a field of golden grass with the blue beauty of the Pacific Ocean behind them, a perfect setting for a dreamer. It was a windy day, which proved to be an interesting component to the shoot. The elegantly simple, architectural dress by Rick Owens was a pleasure to shoot. I loved the modern design. I strove to match this style in some of my images, creating more triangles within the composition. It was a pleasure to shoot Ginny Au’s vision, and Erich McVey is an inspiring mentor.
We’ll be back tomorrow with more from the workshop!
