Coco Palm Styled Shoot from Christopher Orrett Productions on Vimeo.
From Posh Peony Floral And Event Design: This shoot aimed to capture the spirit of 1950’s Old Havana, Cuba- an era full of rustic folkloric and picturesque elements. I wanted to have details that were genuine to the Cuban culture and I drew on inspiration from travel magazines and popular modern and vintage Cuban art.
Rustic and modern details were incorporated throughout. The rustic details were mainly achieved with the metals birdcages and reclaimed wood boxes and pedestals. For a distressed, rustic look, I opted to have a bare wooden table with chairs, simply accented with straw charger plates and colorful china and bamboo flatware. The napkins were made of a natural tweed poly linen.
Cuban sweets and mojitos accented with vintage Cuban cigar boxes, dominoes, and lounge furniture were also included in the shoot.
The centerpieces were composed of white hydrangeas, coral charm peonies, pink and cream garden roses and stock, pink dahlias, orange and fuchsia ranunculus, yellow pincushions, succulents, and palm leaves.
The ceremony reflected a more modern style and was designed with a bamboo pipe and drape structure accented by corner florals and hanging votive bubbles. The aisle was lined with wood boxes, pedestals, birdcages, florals, succulents, and candles.
A modern invitation with pineapple details was also created for the shoot using a coral and mint palette.
The bride was styled with the idea of a vintage pinup girl style in mind. The attire was very clean and sophisticated with Designs by Justin Alexander (Styles #8465 and #8627). The aim with the makeup was to keep the look very fresh and simple with a bold lip and nude eyes.
Our groom wore a classic white tux with bow tie as well as a traditional Cuban guayabera with khaki pants and a fedora hat.
