From the bride: John and I were introduced by our parents at a Christmas party in college. As long-time sweethearts with a passion for traveling the world and a soft spot for the holidays, we knew that a destination wedding in December would be perfect for us. We gathered together in Ance Marcel, St Martin with 100 of our closest friends and family. For 3 days, we had the unique opportunity to share an island that we loved and have visited many times with those we cared most about in the world. The island has so much to offer. We prefer the French side because the food is phenomenal, the culture is rich, and the beaches and hotels are fantastic. In fact, we’re going back for our one year anniversary!
If you are someone who is ok with limited choices for vendors but wants an island large enough to create a U.S. Wedding vibe, then St Martin is for you. There are definitely some things that were lost in translation, but it makes for some pretty funny stories as we reminisce about our wedding. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. We’re very blessed to have each other and to have found an island that will always hold a special place in our lives, as well as our friends and family.
