Less is more! That seems to be the mantra of many couples these days, who are opting for simple and oh so pretty, one tier wedding cakes for their celebration.
It is really interesting to see the shift in movement from the traditional, towering wedding cake, to deconstructed layers displayed at varying heights, pared right down to the modern, single layer cake decked out with flowers, fruit or a unique topper or with enough embellishment to require no other decor at all! The result is a soft and pretty minimalism that I can’t help but adore.
There has been a lot of talk in the wedding world about seeing a return to ballroom elegance and grandeur this year. Despite that, I believe that the understated elegance of the one tier cake will remain popular. What do you think?
