As romantic as the ocean can be, it lends itself even more lovely when you incorporate peaceful hues of color, a horse, and flowing floral details. Alexa Kay Events set out to create such a palette with this inspiration shoot set in the Dominican Republic!
From the planner: “My trip to the Dominican Republic was unbelievably fun and educational! This experience both teaching and learning was only to be bested by the photos our shoot produced. Not only did I get to work side by side with a group of amazing stylists, photographers, florist, models and even a horse, but I also got to learn from each and every one of them….well maybe not so much our horse, but you get the point. As peaceful as an ocean breeze, this wedding color palette definitely had me inspired! In fact, the hues of the sand and the sea are the pigments that were used for our styled shoot in Playa Juan Dolio. The tablescape in our design is so soft and romantic. The floral table runner, flowed just as gently as the ocean and the candles added such elegance. In a world where wedding planning can be stressful and overwhelming at times, this color combination has such a calming and peaceful vibe — who can say no to that?! Plus, there’s something so freeing about being near the water and the light and airy shades in this aesthetic really add to that factor. My favorite part about this inspiration? The horse! We actually got to incorporate a beautiful sandy white stallion into this styled shoot, which just put the photogenic nature of our shots through the roof! The touching moments between a bridal beauty and this majestic animal created some very emotionally driven frames, then, by adding the masculine figure of a groom to these scenes only brought more passion to each and every shot.”
