Yesterday, we took a virtual trip to Tuscany with this inspiration board– now today, we are going to have a look at just how you can incorporate these and more ideas for your Tuscan wedding theme!
Olive Branches and Olive Oil
Olive groves abound in the Tuscan countryside so it’s only fitting to include them in your theme. This loose, organic arrangement of olive branches makes for a most unique bouquet! Via Strictly Weddings {Jose Villa Photography}
In yesterday’s board, the flower girls had the loveliest, olive branch hair wreaths. The crown above, by Em The Gem, incorporates touches of rosemary which is a popular herb for a Tuscan theme.
Olive branches and leaves form a stunning, reception table runner and can also be used to drape your chairs. Runner by Joy Thigpen via Once Wed {Bryce Covey Photography}.
Olive oil favors are a great, practical gift for your wedding guests if you want a keepsake they can really make use of. Via 100 Layer Cake {Amalie Orrange Photography}
Grapes and Wine
For that vineyard feel, incorporate grapes into your centerpieces or décor. Clusters of grapes pull double duty here as escort card holders and edible guest favors. Via 100 Layer Cake {Lisa Lefkowitz Photography}.
An empty wine rack makes for another creative escort card display. Via Elizabeth Anne Designs {Carrie Patterson Photography}.
Your guests will also appreciate bottles of wine! If you’re hosting your wedding at a vineyard, you can get the wine favors from them and arrange to have the bottles personalized. Via Grey Likes Weddings {Jenna Henderson Photographer}.
Sunflowers
Another beautiful feature of the Tuscan countryside is the fields of beautiful sunflowers! I love how versatile these blooms are- they are used to wonderful effect in the beautiful arch seen above, the bouquet and the centerpieces! Arch via Tessa Barton Photography. Outdoor Venue
Al fresco dining is one of the most easily adored aspects of this theme. Via Once Wed {Jose Villa Photography}. If you have access to a vineyard wedding venue, that’s even more ideal!
Earthy Tablescape
An earthy, organic tablescape created with a lot of greenery evokes the rustic, Tuscan landscape. You can use olive branches and leaves, as with the runner we saw earlier, or use other foliage instead. Via Style Me Pretty {Amanda Wilcher Photography}.
Fresh herbs, such as a sprig of rosemary at the place setting, are a lovely touch. Via Wedding Sparrow {Rylee Hitchner Photography}.
Grapes and other types of fruit used as centerpieces and additional décor (like the wedding cake from yesterday), are also a wonderful fit for this theme. Via Utterly Engaged {The Great Romance}.
Menu Choices
Create a fruit and cheese display {via KT Merry Photography} or this nifty olive oil and bread bar.
Serve your guests a delicious Italian menu. Sweet treats can include traditional desserts like cannoli {via Better Homes and gardens}…
…Or my absolute favourite- tiramisu!! Tiramisu cake by Zuckerzimtundliebe.
An earthy palette of green and white with neutrals is wonderful for this theme. You can also add warm colours such as red or yellow. If you want something a bit darker, purple is a great colour to use, especially if you’re incorporating grapes into this theme.
Now if you live in the Caribbean as I do and have no access to olive branches or sunflowers, just use a motif to represent them on your wedding stationery like this lovely example or get even more creative.
If you have any more ideas and suggestions, I’d love to hear from you! Please feel free to add your comments below!
