A beautiful island soiree – filled with colorful blooms, bright guest wardrobes, and a fun party for all!
from the photographer: “Round Hill is such a magical place in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Palmer and Devan are an LA based couple (Venice Beach to be specific) and their cali-cool approach to life found its perfect complement at Round Hill. The whole weekend was effortlessly beautiful.”
from the bride: “Devan and Palmer met through a mutual friend at a Sunday brunch in Santa Monica in June of 2016. She had just moved to LA in March from Australia, and Devan moved from Chicago in May 2015.
Devan proposed on the beach in Santa Monica in front of Tower 28 close to where they met. Palmer used to live up the street with her bulldog Chunk who was 13 years old so it was a place they frequented often with him. After the proposal, he threw a surprise engagement party with all of their friends in LA.
They visited their venue, Round Hill, in December of 2020, and fell in love with the property. Palmer said:
“We instantly knew we wanted to get married there. It’s a magical place with plenty of room to accommodate all our guests while maintaining a boutique feel. First and foremost, we wanted our guests to enjoy the weekend and their time in Jamaica after making the trip for our special day. As far as wedding events, we went for tropical chic with woven chandeliers and colorful florals while utilizing the beauty of the property and luscious landscape. We included custom bits and pieces throughout to create a more personalized feel including maps of Round Hill with our wedding events, cocktail napkins, matches for the cigar bar, our signature wedding cocktails, and koozies for guests to take home.
Our band was the Fi Real Band, an incredibly talented multi-genre reggae band from Montego Bay. Devan plays guitar, and joined the band to play “Boom Boom” by John Lee Hooker. He dedicated the song to me, but it was also a tribute to his late Uncle Steve who showed him the blues and taught him how to play guitar. “
